Shelley Boettcher is the monthly wine columnist for CBC Radio’s weekend programming in Canada, as well as a regular contributor to City Palate magazine and the wine columnist for Domus magazine, a quarterly luxury homes and lifestyles magazine in Calgary, Canada. For the past five years, she has also been the Calgary restaurant wine list judge for the Vancouver Wine Festival. She also spent several years as the executive editor of Wine Access magazine, as well as the weekly wine columnist and blogger at the Calgary Herald. Her stories have appeared in magazines and newspapers around the world. She holds a master’s degree in journalism from the University of Western Ontario, and her advanced certificate from the Wine and Spirit Education Trust. She has also studied with the International Sommelier Guild. Boettcher has been a judge at Vinitaly, one of the world’s largest wine fairs, and she has interviewed many renowned winemakers, including Wolf Blass and Penfolds‘ Peter Gago. Her favourite wine? Whatever she’s drinking at the moment.
